DETAILS
- Tilt is a dynamic, powerful SEE SAW EQ control. This control has a central neutral position. Turning the control clockwise increases the overall mid to high frequencies and decreases the lows thereby giving your sound more presence, which can be useful for cutting through live band situations. Turning the control anti clockwise reduces the overall mid to high frequencies and increases the lows making your overall sound rounder.
- Headphones socket
- It is important that when you activate an effect there is no switching noise. So, we take great care in designing a switching system that is totally silent in operation. The only thing you should here is a great sounding product.
- FX loops are important as they allow you to add effects to the signal path in a specific place between the pre-amp and the output section on an amplifier. This is where FX loops are important as it allows you to put time-based FX after the distorted pre-amp section. For example, delayed distortion sounds different to distorted delay – try it.

DB-PRE FEATURES
EQ SECTION
1 - TILT - Works like an overall balance control of the tone. Turning toward the TREBLE clef will decrease lower frequencies and boost higher frequencies. Turning towards the BASS clef does the opposite. This control is perfect for fine tuning your overall tone and making sure your tone works in any situation.
2 - BASS - Increasing this control adds more low frequencies to the sound, great for increasing the sub. Decreasing this control cuts back low frequencies, useful to help reign in low end feedback or clean up a muddy sound. Set to 5 this control is by passed and doesn’t affect sound.
3 - LO-MID - Allows you to determine how much LO-MID bass frequencies are present in signal. This control has a centre off position (5) where is has no effect your sound.
Turning the control clockwise increases the level of the LO- MID frequency bass notes, Turning the control anti-clockwise decreases the LO-MID level frequency bass notes. The user can choose the frequency that the LO-MID control effects by the MINI-TOGGLE switch linked to the LO-MID control.
An upper mid setting, great to honing in on the pop of a bass or to cut back on fret noise.
A wider mid-range control is great for bringing out the growl of you bass, very useful to give more bite to your distorted tones, or for cutting back and increasing mid-range clarity.
A narrow lower mid cut which is great for giving more definition
to your bass when playing with
a drummer. Pull it back to give space to the kick & snare, bring it up to push your bass in front of the drums.
4 - HI-MID - Allows you to determine how much Hi-MID bass frequencies are present in signal. This control has a centre off position (5) where it is bypassed and has no effect on your sound. Turning the control clockwise increases the level of the HI-MID frequency bass notes, Turning the control anti-clockwise decreases the HI-MID level frequency bass notes.
5 - TREBLE - Increase this control to boost the higher frequencies and add more top end clarity to the sound. Decrease the control to remove higher frequencies, good for a subby mellow sound.
VOLUME & DRIVE
6 - Controls the post-gain level of the TUBE channel. Use it in conjunction with the TUBE drive control to get the perfect overdrive tone at the right volume.
7 - TUBE DRIVE – Sets the amount of pre-gain to the TUBE channel. At low settings the TUBE channel will have subtle amount of overdrive adding a characteristic warm
sound. At higher settings the preamp into the TUBE channel is pushed harder, giving you more growl and distortion.
8 - MIX -TUBE/FET selection. Determines the functionality of the TUBE footswitch.
When set in TUBE/FET MODE the footswitch switches between the FET and TUBE sections.
10
When set in MIX MODE, the footswitch engages both channels at the same time, allowing you to MIX the FET and TUBE sections.
9 - FET VOLUME – Controls the level of the FET Channel. This channel offers a clean, fast response which is articulate & punchy in the low end
10 - TUBE FOOTSWITCH – Engages the TUBE sounding channel. This cahnnel offers all the warmth and growl associated with a tube loaded bass amp.
11 - MUTE/BYPASS selection. Determines the functionality of the MUTE/BYPASS switch (12). When set in MUTE mode the complete signal is muted at the main output (24) and XLR DI OUT (17) This is a useful feature when using the DB-PRE as your main bass tone - allowing you to change basses silently. with (12) set in BYPASS mode, the MUTE/BYPASS switch works as a conventional pedal footswitch, allowing you to turn the effect on and off (bypassed) as required.
12 - MUTE/BYPASS FOOTSWITCH. This Footswitch function is determined by the selection of the MUTE/BYPASS feature (11).

13 - PSU input for connectinig a regulated 9V DC PSU, centre negative, 2.1x5.5x10mm connector type
14 - PHONES SOCKET – Connecting headphones for monitoring or silent practice..
15 - AUX IN – Provided for connecting an external sound source. Useful for jamming along with audio tracks.
16 - SOURCE SWITCH - The signal sent to the DI-XLR can sent either PRE or POST the pedals EQ section. The source is selected via this switch. With the switch set in pre position the EQ section of the pedal is bypassed. With the switch set to post mode the pedal EQ setting plus the TILT (1) setting will be sent to the XLR-DI (16).
17 - XLR-Balanced D.I. Out – This is a balanced signal output for sending to external devices such as mixing desking, PA etc.
18 - GROUND LIFT – Provided to avoid any hum problems there may be when connecting the balanced D.I to external equipment such as mixing desks etc.
19 - Passive input - Provided to connect a bass equipped with passive pickups. The output of passive pickups is normally lower than that of active pickups, but this is not always the case. So please experiment with the Active input if you have a passive bass with a high output.
20 - Active input - Provided to connect a bass equipped with Active pickups. Active pickups tend to have a higher outpt level than passive pickups, this is not always the case. So please experiment with the passive input if you need a little more level into the pedal.
21 - Link Output - Provided to connect to an additonal amp when using a multi amp set up. The link signal is taken directly from the passive/active inputs and is a dry signal.
22 - FX LOOP SEND- Used for connecting an external effects device to your preamp pedal. Use the send jack to connect to the input of your external device.
23 - FX LOOP RETURN - Used for connecting an external effects device to your preamp pedal. Use the return jack to connect the output of the external device to your preamp pedal.
24 - OUTPUT - Used for connecting you pedal to the bass amp or additional in line pedals.
