Bass Strings

Bass guitar strings for 4-string and 5-string basses, in single sets and multi-packs. A standard 4-string bass is tuned E-A-D-G, and a 5-string bass adds a low B. Most players use roundwound strings for a bright, punchy tone; flatwound strings are smoother and warmer.

Check your bass's scale length before you buy: most electric basses are long scale (about 34 inches). Our guide to the parts of a bass guitar explains string names, gauges and when to change your strings.
