Strings

Guitar and bass strings, from single sets to money-saving multi-packs. Strings lose their brightness and stop staying in tune as they age, so most players change them every few months. Match the strings to the instrument: steel strings for acoustic guitars, nickel or steel for electric guitars, and nylon only for classical guitars. Light gauges are easier to play; heavier gauges sound fuller.
