Laney Black Country Customs BLACKHEATH Triple-Mode Bass Distortion and Overdrive pedal - aggressive through tube-like Made in UK
Product Description
THE. NEW. STANDARD.
The BLACKHEATH is a handcrafted, triple-mode, bass distortion pedal dedicated to giving the bass player all the tonal distortion they are looking for in a single pedal. Featuring 2 different modes of Distortion and an Overdrive, the Blackheath delivers the classic distortion you want, from aggressive distortion through tube-like distortion, to subtle distortions that add character to clean sounds.
DETAILS
Tri coloured LED’s are more expensive than regular single colour LED’s, but we feel they are worth the investment. Where you have a pedal that has multiple modes on a dark stage a tri colour LED gives you a clear visual reference to which mode your pedal is running in.
It is important that when you activate an effect there is no switching noise. So, we take great care in designing a switching system that is totally silent in operation. The only thing you should here is a great sounding product.

Featuring 2 different modes of Distortion and an Overdrive the BLACKHEATH delivers all the classic distortion sounds you are looking for from aggressive distortion, through tube like distortion and subtle distortions great for adding character to clean sounds.
Each of the BCC pedals have been designed to incorporate features that really matter :-

• Super high output drive provides an
excellent interface between bass guitar
and effects pedals/amp.
• Much reduced cable loss.
• Consistent bass guitar volume performance at all settings.
• Signal phase integrity.
• Excellent consistent load for passive
Volume pedals.
• Ultra-low noise circuitry.
• Tri-coloured LED showing mode of operation.
• Silent switching.
• Low battery consumption.
LAYOUT
The layout of your pedal has been ergonomically designed by players, for players, to give you control over all the features you need, quickly and effectively.
The following pages will give you an insight into how the controls on the BLACKHEATH work and interact with each other.
CONTROLS
1 GAIN
Control for the amount of drive into the distor- tion stage. Higher settings for a more distorted signal, lower settings for a little bit of grit.
2 RANGE
Control for the amount of low end distortion. Setting the control to minimum allow the most low end out of the pedal giving you a thunderous growl. A maximum setting removes some of
the low end frequencies and gives you a tighter sound for a more punchy mid-forward tone.
3 VOLUME
Controls the output signal level of the distortion pedal.
4 MODE
Changes the distortion character/tone.
DIST 1: An aggressive distortion character more akin to classic distortion pedals.
DIST 2: An asymmetrical distortion which gives more of a natural tube distortion tone.
OVERDRIVE: A less gain filled overdrive for more subtle uses. Great for adding a little bit of life into a clean tone.
5 SIGNAL INPUT
Bass / Guitar / Instrument input.
Optimised for bass guitar but can accept other instruments.
6 FOOTSWITCH
Enables / Disables the pedal.
7 OUTPUT
The main FX output. This is a low noise high quality buffered output.
OPERATION
Install a good quality 9V battery into the pedal by unscrewing the base of the pedal and fitting the battery securely to the battery connector and then replace the base of the pedal. Do not use excessive force to tighten up the 4 base plate screws as this could damage the screws.
When not in use it is always a good idea to remove the input jack from your pedal to prevent any unwanted battery power loss.
Caution - when you do not intend to use the pedal for a long period of time, it is always advisable to remove the battery to prevent current loss and battery leakage.
Alternatively - and highly recommended is the use of an external good quality DC 9V PSU.
