The Bajo Sexto or "lower sixth" bass guitar is mainly used in primarily in Norteño or Tex-Mex / Tejano music. It tunes just like a regular western 12 string guitar or in EADGCF except it is an octave down, so that it provides the bass as well as rhythm for many styles of mexican-american music. Usually accompanied by at least an Accordion, but often a full band of modern Western and traditional Mexican instruments. You can use regular guitar strings on it and play it as a regular 12-string guitar, but it comes with Bajo sexto bass strings ready to play right out of the box. Whether you are a seasoned Tex-Mex pro, an eager beginner, or even a progressive experimenter wanting to incorporate this uniquely beautiful sound into your own style of music, you will pleased with the quality, tone and playability of this instrument.
